Prof Zheng is the Water and Land Research Theme Leader at Fudan Tyndall Centre. Research interests include: watershed pollution control; rural sewage treatment; advanced treatment of mildly polluted water; rural solid waste disposal and recycling. He has been: Head of the Department of Environmental Engineering at Nanjing University 1999-2004; Dean of the School of the Environment at Nanjing University 2004-2008. He helped found the Basin Pollution Control Research Centre at Fudan University and serves as the centre’s director. He has been Member of the Discipline Appraisal Panel on Environmental Science and Engineering under the State Council’s Academic Degree Committee, and Member of the Lake Panel under the National Key Scientific and Technological Research Program in Water Pollution Prevention and Control. He also receives the State Council’s Special Allowance.
